About Me

Rachel Gray,

Counselling & Psychotherapy

I offer a professional, yet warm and caring space for my clients to come and explore the difficulties they are facing. I believe you as the client hold your own answers, and my role is to support you to explore, current or historical issues that you wish to talk about and work through with me. I will invite you on a journey of self-exploration, and this at times, can feel challenging. However, I will be alongside you on your journey, supporting you to make any changes you feel may help you to get past what you are struggling with.

Working as a counsellor and therapist is a great honour, and something I feel very passionate about. It is a privilege to walk alongside clients on their journey, often through very challenging periods of their process. But, the hard work of therapy often leads to personal growth, a greater understanding of their difficulties, meaning that positive change is possible to increase a client’s quality of life.

Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked for over 20 years alongside adults and children who were experiencing difficulties in their lives. I am trained to offer counselling and psychotherapy to individuals, drawing from psychodynamic/analytic theory, whilst offering the core conditions of person-centred theory, empathy, genuineness, and a non-judgemental attitude. I have gained counselling qualifications from Edinburgh University, Human Development Scotland (formally The Scottish Institute of Human Relations), and Interface Scotland, where i completed my Diploma in Counselling.

I offer both short, and long-term therapy and your needs can be discussed at your initial session.
